Our Mathematical Universe

My Quest for the Ultimate Nature of Reality

Max Tegmark, 2014, Tigard, 523.101 TEG

I've attempted to read popular cosmology books lately, hoping to learn how they landed on the particular dark matter, dark energy, big-bang-from-one-point inflaton model that is currently prevalent. How many other models have they tried, and why do they assume large-scale uniformity?

The answers aren't in this book, which assumes the curent model and extrapolates philosophically from that. I did not read more than a chapter, so I can't review the book.
