Thinsat Area

Triangular Thinsat area

Assume rounded corners for circular electrochromic thrusters.

Start with two dimensions - thruster diameter D , and thruster-to-thruster spacing S defining the sides of an equilateral triangle within the body of the thinsat. We can decompose the thinsat into three kinds of area:

  • the central triangle, between the centers of the thrusters
  • three outside 120° wedges of thruster

  • three outside rectangular strips along the edges of the triangle
