The Brain Electric

This is not the book I'm looking for. This is mostly about current attempts to put electrodes in brains of patients. Mostly one patient, D. Brookman, and one patent-hungry doctor, Eric Leuthardt. Brookman is severely damaged, partly by macroscopic brain surgery attempting to control his seizures. The electrodes were partly to locate the source of the siezures (assuming a location as opposed to a chemical condition) and some cognition-to-electrical mapping was done.

Nothing about infections, or the wireless "inside the skull" connections that might help with that. The author is an arts reporter, and his interest in science is laudable but not especially informative.
