Why not solar energy on earth?
Doesn't this use more energy for launch fuel than it makes?
Not exactly a criticism ... but where is the business plan hosted? -- Brandon
- Good question. Like pre-IPO Google, and for the same reasons, the technology is public, but the business plan is private. Competitors should find their own suppliers and customers and profits. If you want to know the business plan I hope to use for my ventures, feel free to join me and whoever invests in me. You are free to speculate about opportunities and post them here, but I prefer that you develop them into products and profits yourself, so we can do business with you when you go public.
Shared technology is a good business strategy. Shared business strategy is a technique that frightens investors. I would love to work with investors who also want to share the business plan, but I have little hope of that.
Do we wind up adding a lot more "junk" to the orbital layer around earth? How do we protect against collisions from rockets and other satellites?
- Given the high orbits used, collisions are a minor problem. Because server sky arrays can act as radars, they can accurately predict the passage of the few
potential colliders present. Because server satellites maneuver with light pressure, they can always get out of the way, or be moved by other server satellites for collection and disposal. More on the ProblemCollisions page.
- And when all else fails, individual server satellites are cheap to replace. Server sky arrays will help eliminate the space debris problem, not exacerbate it.
